Our Origin
The story of Schwank Grills begins with an innovation in gas infrared technology dating back to 1938, when the company’s founder, Gunther Schwank, patented a breakthrough design that transformed the heating and grilling industries. Decades later, in the 1970s and 1980s, the family continued to refine this technology, developing overhead infrared grills used by renowned steakhouse restaurants such as Peter Luger, CUT, and Gibson’s.
While supplying commercial kitchens with high-performance infrared solutions for over forty years, Schwank Grills made the decision in 2020 to bring the same trusted technology into the hands of home grillers. This led to the launch of the Schwank 1500 Degree Portable Infrared Grill, a product designed to deliver professional-level results in everyday outdoor cooking.
